Upload files in Java with SimpleFTP
A few of my Java programs create files (images or text) that I would like to place on the web. This tends not to be too much of a problem for me, as I can actually access a web server via a mapped network drive from Windows. However, not everyone has that luxury.
Today, I solved this problem by making SimpleFTP. As the name suggests, this is a simple FTP package. It lets you connect to an IRC server and upload files. Nothing more. I am pondering adding it to ComicBot at some point so it can upload its output to a remote web server via FTP.

LogBot
I've also just released a LogBot. This logs an IRC channel to a web page so anybody can see it, even if they never use IRC. This is particularly useful for disseminating channel content during conferences or public debates.

ReminderBot
I've just released a ReminderBot after a bit of prodding from Noia. I'm pretty pleased with it. It's based on PircBot (as usual) and is very efficient compared with the reminder feature implemented in Monty. It saves its state to disk, so even if your machine has to be rebooted, the bot will not forget about all those important reminders.
This bot is great for reminding you when to take food out of the oven or when to go to meetings.

New home page
For the past few years, the homepage of jibble.org has been rather unexciting. A couple of years ago, I experimented with making a system that enabled me to post news articles to my home page (perhaps the term "blog" is more accurate). I decided not to use it, as I did not really see the value in running a blog, nor did I believe I would keep it up to date.
As you can see, I've finally got round to bringing the idea to life. I hope you'll enjoy reading this a bit more than the previous, static homepage. I certainly hope all the people that kept telling me to start a blog are a bit happier now. I expect I'll use it to announce software releases on this site and to whinge and moan about everything else :)
